‼️late post‼️ We made it to Friday beautiful people! I really can not express enough how excited I am that not only is it Friday, but it’s another day closer to the Thanksgiving break! Every year I am not only amped up for the holidays, but I thoroughly enjoy the time off from work. The time off is definitely well spent doing what I want to do and having very little obligations to meet that truly demand my attention. But with every post, there is a meaning and a message. Let me start by telling you about my morning…
I started my day thinking I would be able to leave the house in just enough time to drop my children off and head to work. Not so. I ran into not only a stand still train, but traffic was more backed up than usual and the shortcuts that I knew to take, well let’s just say others know these cuts as well 😩So in the midst of my frustration with being faced with all of this, and now being pressed for time, I had to check myself: Girl, why aren’t you giving yourself enough time? What was so important this morning that disallowed you to give yourself the one thing you need to ensure minimal frustrations and everyone getting to their destinations safely? Allow me to elaborate. I knew traffic could potentially be heavier that usual given the time I left. I knew the train comes around a certain time and I somehow forgot to factor that in this morning. I knew this to prevent everything and I still lingered.
So guess what my answer to my ending question was? (Yes, I had to answer myself 😂) NOTHING. There was nothing that hindered me but ME this morning. I knew I had to get to certain points by certain times and I knew the last moments of sleep I attempted to hold onto could have been spent doing something productive, but I chose to take the path I did this morning and ended up with the results that happened.
Check yourself periodically. Nothing wrong with that. Trust me, it puts things into perspective. You would much rather have checked yourself on something that YOU could have prevented versus someone else doing it for you. Self awareness is key and most often critical. Slow down and allow yourself time to get things done. Prepare the night before. Get up 10 minutes earlier. Allow your body to start the day NOT on 1000! You would much rather have everything done in enough time than rushing, worrying and left feeling frustrated.
Don’t wait on breaks or certain events to take place to take the time you need, make it a habit so that it comes effortlessly as if you were doing it all along.
Friends, the weekend is upon us! Do what YOU want to do for yourself! MOST IMPORTANTLY, ENJOY ❤️
