I feel like Mekhi Phifer sometimes in the meme where he is holding the cigarette… and I just simply have to learn where I am needed versus where I am wanted in situations. Hence, the title of the post. Without giving pertinent details, I’ll get to what became of it all and my take on it. IF you’re allowing a man to lay next to you and he doesn’t contribute to your household VOLUNTARILY nor can you ask him for anything, you’ll always be taken advantage of. This was the latest chronicle that appeared in my lap recently. I was faced with a task that involved me revealing information to a close person, who I admitted to that I won’t judge her decisions when it came down to it all, but the aftermath that came from this was them acting as though it never happened and they’re one big happy family. So you can understand the meme (Google it if you’re unaware of the reference). My thing is, and readers, keep in mind, this isn’t intended to belittle anyone, but if you know, you KNOW. If you possess any type of self worth and self discipline, you’ll pay attention to the red flags and not allow the situation to overcome you. Any person, not necessarily a man(keeping it clear since a man was the first focal point of this discussion) will do ANYTHING you allow to be done. Don’t be that person and allow it to happen to you. You’ll walk away, every single time from the situation feeling frustrated and confused as to why you let it happen but in reality, you can’t blame anyone but yourself for someone taking advantage of you. You’re in control of YOU. Stay in control.
